Coarse salt “Pavāriņš”
Usage
Coarse ground and sifted salt with degree of grinding “0” traditionally used in Latvia. Large packaging is intended for works with high salt consumption: salting and preserving of food, as well as agricultural needs.
Type of salt
Coarse salt – a naturally white-grey crystalline substance derived from underground salt deposits. Salt is crushed / broken down using mining methods and transported to a factory. At the factory, salt is categorized by fractions, quality, and mines.

Description of origin
Rock salt deposits have formed as a result of evaporation of sea water millions of years ago. Salt deposits are broken down, crushed, purified and prepackaged using mining methods. Rock salt is almost pure NaCl, and this kind of salt is commonly used in the food industry and called “common salt”. However, it contains a variety of impurities.
